WHAT IS SLACK?

Slack is a communication hub that can replace email to help you and your community connect seamlessly. It’s designed to support the way people naturally work together, so you can connect with people online as efficiently as you do face-to-face.

Gravitate has been using Slack as a communication tool since opening, and many of our members use within their own organizations as well!

Slack has a great knowledge base to get started, you can read more about that here.

If you haven’t received an invite to Gravitate’s Slack, you can request one here. Otherwise, here’s a link to sign in.

We highly recommending downloading the desktop application and/or the mobile app available in your app store.

WHAT ARE SLACK CHANNELS?

In Slack, communication happen in channels. A channel is a single place for a team to share messages, images, and files. Read here to learn all about how to create, join, and use channels to connect with your community.

WHAT CHANNELS SHOULD I JOIN?

Gravitate’s Slack community has channels for many topics and interests. We recommend starting small and joining others as you get the hang of things. We’ll list them below:

#gravi-ops : this is where you can alert the Gravi-staff about things related to our buildings (parking, coffee, power, etc.)
