Meet Taryn, our bright and sunny community manager at Gravitate Midtown in Windsor Heights.

Taryn was born and raised in the small town of Story City, Iowa! She attended Iowa State University, a perfect fit as a lifelong cyclone, where she majored in Human Development and Family Studies. After graduating this past December, she joined the team here at Gravitate! She is excited about this new experience and getting to know everyone, so come by and say hello!

Taryn spent many years in the restaurant industry working as a barista and waitress. In fact, it was her first job at 16 at her local coffee shop that led to her first real love (aka addiction-to) coffee — she is going to fit in well here at Gravitate! In her free time, she enjoys cooking, reading, and spending time outdoors. She is eager to try new restaurants and find the best thrift stores as she explores Des Moines.

A few fun facts about Taryn:

Taryn is passionate about a lot of things: friends, music, connection, books, pickles, and living in the moment!
The best concert Taryn attended was this past Spring where she was able to see one of her favorite DJs, Hippie Sabotage, at Red Rocks Amphitheater in Colorado. She says if you ever have the opportunity, “buy the ticket and figure it out later, you won’t be disappointed!”
Her guilty pleasure is watching New Girl, she’s on her 4th round of watching it.
Her go-to happy hour drink is any local IPA, her tried and true is Big Grove’s Easy Eddy though!
Taryn’s hometown is known for two things: The 110-year-old antique carousel (yes it still runs) and the Norwegian festival each summer
A skill she would love to learn is to play the piano or become bilingual!
