Meet Sydney! Our cheerful and kind-hearted community manager at Gravitate Midtown in Windsor Heights.
Sydney, who also goes by Syd, was born and raised here in the Des Moines area! She is excited to get to meet Gravitates members, so make sure you say hello next time you see her around.
Syd is a University of Iowa alum, where she majored in Environmental Policy & Urban Planning with a Certificate in Sustainability. She has worked many diverse jobs ranging from a plant store to catering to childcare-she even spent a summer working on a vegetable farm in Denmark! Sydney loves to share about this experience that she found through WWOOF, where she was also able to spend her weekends exploring the city of Copenhagen.
In Syd’s free time, you can find her caring for her 50 houseplants (yes 50, she counted), listening to podcasts and hanging with her partner, Danny, who is a Gravitate Downtown member! Sydney would also love to chat Zodiac signs with you when you have a free moment.

Her favorite place is Copenhagen, Denmark-she swears she has lived a past life there!
Lately she has been trying her hand at reading more books and taking art classes at The Art Center.
Syd is passionate about oversized sweatshirts, finding creativity in adulthood, road trips and Costco hotdogs.

Her favorite TV shows are Veep & Better Call Saul.
