WFH Check-in and Gravitate updates!

Hey there,

It’s the team at your favorite coworking community checking in. Even though you’re not in the office, we’re here for you. We’re all going a bit stir crazy and it’s still week #1 but we are going to get through this together.

VIRTUAL SOCIALIZING
Have you joined Slack yet? Gravitate has an active online community chat room on Slack and it is more important than ever. If you are a Gravitate Member, you can request to join our Slack team here. We have some upcoming virtual events we’ll be hosting below:

  • Netflix&Lunch! We began watching The Office “together” over the lunch hour starting at 12pm. Join the #wfm-office-rewatch Slack channel to chat while we watch.

  • Gravitate Virtual Happy Hour Thursdays at 4:00pm! Thanks to Gravitate Downtown member, John Moder, for this idea. It’s a Virtual Happy Hour, so grab your own drink (whatever that means to you!) and log in to chat with other Gravitators. Subscribe to Gravi-event Calendar.

OFFICE ACCESS
Gravitate’s public entrances will remain locked until further notice. Members are welcome to access the space at their own risk. Please be aware that our locations are mostly unstaffed. Wipe down your workspace before and after use, wash your hands, practice good hygiene, etc. Sanitizing clean kits are available at each location!

MAIL & PACKAGES
As a monthly member, you are able to have mail and items delivered to Gravitate. Our doors are locked to the public, but we are still receiving packages and mail. We do ask that you are thoughtful with shipments during this time, only placing orders for necessary items.

GRAVITATE ON SOCIAL
With all the activity, the Internet is a very fun place right now. Follow and interactor with us on social media for updates and all the memes!

SMALL BUSINESS RESOURCES
It is a scary time for small business but please lean on Gravitate for guidance during this time. We have a vast community of contacts and resources, so please reach out.

  • Eric Engelmann, the founder of Geonetric and NewBoCo in Cedar Rapids, wrote a guest post on Clay & Milk about things that entrepreneurs should keep in mind during this time.

  • SBA Small Business Resources & Guidance

  • Iowa Economic Development Authority is using this survey to help quantify the economic damage of the pandemic in Iowa, in part to help with requests for federal aid. If you’re an entrepreneur or small business owner, please participate.

  • Iowa Center for Economic Success established a facebook group to share information during this time, check it out here.
